Safeguarding and Child Protection Policy
Last updated 14 October 2026
Concerned about a child? Email support@taptuition.com or WhatsApp +971 52 367 0211. If a child is in immediate danger, call UAE Police on 999 first.
1. Our approach
Tap Tuition is a marketplace, not the provider of lessons, but we take child safety seriously. Children's safety and dignity come first. A commercial dispute, a subscription issue or a worry about our reputation never delays acting on a credible, immediate risk. Nothing here replaces the duties of the police, the authorities or a teacher's employer.
2. Teacher checks
Before a profile goes live we review a teaching qualification, a UAE private tuition work permit and identity (an Emirates ID, which we delete within 24 hours). These are document checks. They are not police clearance or a guarantee of character, and we do not claim any screening we have not done. We log what was reviewed, when, and expiry dates, and we suspend profiles when required proof expires or a credible serious risk appears.
3. Boundaries
Teachers must keep communication professional and about tuition. They must not have personal relationships with children, arrange private meetings or contact outside agreed tuition, use inappropriate messages, or ask for or share images of a child. For in-person lessons, parents choose the location and should make sure a responsible adult is at home. For online lessons, parents should stay nearby, especially with younger children.
4. No recording
No one may audio-record, video-record, screen-record, livestream or photograph a lesson or a free consultation, in person or online. Tap Tuition has no recording feature. Report suspected recording to us.
5. Free consultations
Free 15-minute online consultations are covered by this policy in full. A parent or guardian should be present or immediately available. Teachers must use the meeting link we provide, must not record or photograph, and must not contact the child privately.
6. Reporting a concern
Report anything that worries you, such as suspected abuse, grooming, inappropriate messages, neglect, harmful conduct or unauthorised recording:
- Email support@taptuition.com
- WhatsApp +971 52 367 0211
These channels are not emergency services. If a child is in immediate danger, call UAE Police on 999 first. Please share only what is needed.
7. How we respond
Our Safeguarding Lead is one of the two founders, with the other as deputy. We read reports promptly, deal first with any immediate danger, keep a restricted record of the report, decisions and evidence, and escalate to the authorities where needed or required. We do not promise 24/7 cover or a fixed outcome.
8. Fairness
Reports are taken seriously, with no assumption of guilt. A teacher may be hidden while a credible concern is looked into. Evidence is shared only with those who need it, and the teacher gets a fair chance to respond where that is lawful and consistent with the child's safety. We do not replace police or child-protection investigations.
9. Records
Safeguarding records are kept in a restricted place with access logging and a retention schedule. We keep only what is needed and do not delete or change material that could matter to a lawful investigation. Private allegations are never shown on public profiles or in marketing.
10. Review
We review this policy and any incidents regularly.
